The first biannual session of the Eastern Nagaland Dobashis’ Union (ENDBU) was held at CKS hall Tuensang headquarter on November 23.
Addressing the gathering, H. Haiying, advisor of Prisons, Printing & Stationary, said that DBs are the guardians of society and people.
The identity, order and progress of the people should be preserved and maintained by the DBs so that every aspect may develop and progress in peace and unity. He also urged the DBs to uphold “Principle and integrity”.
Also speaking on the occasion, advisor department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA), Bongkhao Konyak, stressed on the role of DBs and encouraged them to abide by the rules of law strengthen law and order.
In the second session, DC Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha, spoke on the topic “Paradigm shift in the role of Dobashis” with special reference to the judicial intervention.”
Others who spoke at the program included, president ENPO, T. Kekongchim; president CKS, Ningsanglemba; and president ENGBF, Chuba Konyak.
Earlier, the first session was presided over by Moasenla Chang and Chimkila Yimchunger. The invocation was offered by president Tuensang Town Pastors Union, pastor Abemo T. Humtsoe. Keynote address was delivered by president ENDBU, R. Muthsodang. Folk songs were presented by Khiamniungan DBs, I/c Chetei DB, Kiphire district DBs, W.M. Mullong Chang Tuensang & friends. A presentation called “Remembering our past” was presented by CCSU, Cultural troupe.
A special number was presented by Mon district DBs. Benediction was offered by Rev. Ngaku, pastor DEF Tuensang. Grace with obituary reference was pronounced by Rev. Akhum, pastor YBCTT. Aspecial song was presented by DBs Tamlu sub- division Longleng. The program was attended by various Eastern Nagaland organizations.
