Wokha Village Council (WVC) has informed the public that jhum fields at Jonsulan/ Roniyuo area, near Airfield colony and territorial army camp Wokha town will be burnt from 9 am to 1 pm on March 11. The general public of airfield colony, territorial army, Assam Rifle Hq. Wokha, district administration, Fire and Emergency Services and commuters along the route have been requested to be aware of the scheduled activity.
Cultivators have been asked to keep watch of their jhum fields until the fires are completely extinguished and every cultivator has been asked to create a wide space between slashed vegetation and the adjoining forests before setting fires.
