A free glaucoma and eye screening camp, under the theme, “Beat invisible glaucoma”, was conducted for 50 years and above patients at council hall, Khar village under Mokokchung district on March 12. The camp was organized as part of “World Glaucoma Week 2019.”
A press release from the DPMU chief medical office stated that the camp was sponsored by National Program for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), Nagaland. An eye specialist from IMDH, Mokokchung sensitized the gathering. The camp was conducted by eye specialist Dr. Wobenthung Tsopoe, Atola staff nurse and Sakoyuba ophthalmic assistant.
A total of 93 patients were screened and were given spectacles free of cost and medicines were provided to the needy. A few cases were referred to IMDH for further examination and necessary treatment.
