Dimapur Khar Senso Telongjem (DKST) celebrated its golden jubilee on March 21 at Dimapur Government College Auditorium with senior advocate, Guwahati High Court Kohima Bench, CT Jamir as the main speaker.
A press release by the organizing committee stated that Justice & Law, Border Affairs and Treasuries & Accounts advisor, Dr. Longrineken and Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir, were special invitees to the program.
Speaking on the occasion, CT Jamir encouraged the gathering to fulfill their duties as citizens of the village and also contribute to its upliftment.
He also stressed on truth, hard work and wisdom as being virtues to acquire God in life.
Dr. Longrineken spoke a message of unity, which he said would bring strength to the village citizens. Based on this, he asserted that everyone should take unity as a responsibility for the people to progress.
Limasunep Jamir stated that the basic identity of a man is one’s native village, which should not be forgotten and one should always be connected to it.
Earlier, the Golden Jubilee Souvenir was released by former director general of Prisons, Fire Services & Home Guards, NN Walling; and the golden jubilee greetings were delivered by (retd) Geology & Mining Dimapur director, SH Walling.
The DKST has expressed gratitude to in-law of Khar village, Industries and Commerce, NIDC, advisor, Imnatiba Jamir for his presence and message in the jubilee magazine.
The program was chaired by Moatemjen Longkumer and Temjenkala Jamir; God’s blessing was invoked by Rev. S Apong Jamir. A welcome address was delivered by president DKST, Aowati Jamir; and Kikasangla presented a jubilee poem. The Khar Village Council chairman gave a short speech. A vote of thanks was proposed by jubilee planning committee, convenor, I. Watitemjen; benediction was pronounced by Khar Baptist Church, pastor, L. Kumzuk Walling.
The jubilee feast was hosted by Watichujang and family. The Golden Jubilee Planning Committee has expressed its gratitude to all individuals who contributed towards the success of the program.
