Patkai Christian College students interact with AG (Audit)

Students from Patkai Christian College (PCC) visited the office of the Accountant General (audit), Kohima to study audit observation procedures in government departments and public sector undertakings, as part of their academic curriculum on March 20.

A press release from PCC, HoD mass communication, Dr. Dakter Esse stated that accountant general (audit), A. Pitoho Chophy, while interacting with B. Com 6th semester students, exhorted them to set goals and become better individuals. He gave insights into the subject matter and urged the students to come out of their comfort zones and explore their potentials to achieve great feats in life. 

Students also interacted with audit officer, Phuntsok Tshering and Mitoli Z. Yeptho. They highlighted the role of corporate governance in holding a company accountable to their responsibilities while maintaining cohesiveness of the organization. They further said that corporate governance was an important mechanism to monitor non-compliance with standards of financial reporting and accountability of companies.

The AOs also spoke about audit procedures of government departments and a few public sector undertakings in the state.
