As per the resolution adopted at the consultative meet of representatives of tribal hohos and student leaders at Tourist Lodge here on Saturday, Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has urged the tribal hohos to depute volunteers from September 16 at check gates to prevent illegal collection of money from trucks and lorries. In an appeal by its convener Vekhosayi Nyekha and co-convener K Ghokheto Chophy, PAC urged the tribal hoho volunteers to reach their respective gates of duty half-an-hour before time, besides calling for deputing senior leaders to command the volunteers.
The committee, however, stressed that the volunteers should not check vehicles, but only prevent their crew from paying illegal money to State and non-State actors.
PAC sought full cooperation from the tribal hohos so that the effort towards fighting the illegal collection of money, which was for the betterment of society and Dimapurians in particular, becomes successful.
