Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has questioned the State government on the recruitment terms and conditions issued by Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) and called for their cancellation.

In a release, organisation’s president Kezhokhoto Savi alleged that there were many loopholes in the terms and conditions, while it was not within the department’s purview to conduct recruitment, especially to the post of Gazetted Class-I officer.

NVCO raised strong objection for not mentioning the criteria meant for “indigenous inhabitants only” within the terms and conditions of recruitment, especially for the posts of technicians and staff nurse (permanent posts), which amounted to inviting outsiders to participate in the recruitment.

Referring to hundreds of Naga indigenous inhabitants were unemployed, it asked why the department was playing with “our” youth and educated unemployed.

Asking the H&FW department to understand that these posts were only meant for indigenous Naga inhabitants as they were not Centrally-sponsored or Central department posts, NVCO also raised strong objection to recruitment of Gazetted Class-I officer’s post, which it contended was outside the department’s purview.

If the State government allowed such recruitments, the organisation wondered what use Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) would be.

It asked the department not to take advantage of the situation and commit blunder again.

Pointing out the loopholes in the terms and condition, NVCO asked whether it was fair to allow age relaxation up to 45 years of age, consider 2 marks for each year of experience in a fresh open recruitment process and consider maximum marks from university marks.

It asked the department not to play with recruitment in this manner as it would spoil the career of many qualified Naga candidates, especially the junior ones who would have done better in a fair recruitment process.
