Following the detection of four COVID-19 positive cases at Dimapur Government College (DGC), the minister for higher education and tribal affairs, Temjen Inma Along held a meeting with the principal, vice principal and faculty members of the college at tourist lodge, Dimapur.
A press release by DGC publicity & media cell stated that during the interaction, Along was appraised of the events and actions taken with the detection of the COVID-19 cases.
The minister stressed on starting contact tracing and advised both the students and teachers to act responsibly.
In order to ensure that all the hostellers are COVID-free, Along assured that he would contribute RAT testing kits for the boys and girls hostellers living in the college-run hostels in the campus.
As of now, the results of the five primary contacts are being awaited after which the decision on whether to seal the entire college would be taken.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for online classes which would begin starting April 28.
