Reacting to a fake news about 13 COVID infected taxi drivers plying between Kohima and Wokha, the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha on Thursday lodged an FIR with the Wokha police station.
ANTA stated that the rumour that was doing the rounds has affected the livelihood and business of its members.
Dismissing the rumour, which had gone viral on facebook and WhatsApp, the ANTA unit said that the information was “baseless” and sought thorough investigation in the case.
The association has appealed to the Wokha district administration for COVID tests of all the drivers under ANTA Wokha, particularly those of Dimapur and Kohima. The association also directed its members to strictly comply with the SOPs.
Meanwhile, ANTA Wokha distributed hand sanitisers and masks to all taxis plying within and outside the district.
