State logs 326 new cases, 11 Covid deaths

 Nagaland on Thursday recorded 326 fresh Covid-19 positive cases and 11 deaths.

Of the fresh cases, Dimapur reported 161 cases, Kohima- 100, Tuensang- 16, Zunheboto- 14, Mokokchung and Mon- 12 each, seven in Phek, two in Wokha and one each in Longleng and Peren, taking the total caseload to 19284.

The death toll also climbed to 245 after 10 patients succumbed to the infection in Dimapur and one in Kohima (234 Covid deaths and 11 non-Covid but with Covid positivity).

Meanwhile, a total of 252357 persons have been inoculated against Covid, that includes 198426 first dose and 53931 second dose.

India records over 2.76L cases; daily deaths below 4,000

PTI: With 2,76,110 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India’s tally of COVID-19 cases climbed to 2,57,72,440 while the daily deaths were recorded below 4,000 after four days, taking the toll to 2,87,122, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.
A total of 3,874 fatalities due to COVID-19 were registered in a span of 24 hours.
The active cases have further reduced to 31,29,878, comprising 12.14 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 86.74 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.    
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 2,23,55,440, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.11 per cent, the data stated.
Meanwhile, over than 20.55 lakh COVID-19 tests were conducted in a span of 24 hours, the highest-ever conducted in a single day in India, while the daily positivity rate stands at 13.44 per cent, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.
