Tangnyu Village Council (TVC) has reacted to the claim made by chief Angh of five Sheanghah villages– Sheanghah Chingnyu, Sheanghah Tangten, Sheanghah Wamsa, Sheanghah Mokok and Sheanghah Lokyo– concerning the shifting of EAC Hqs from Longshen.
In a press release, TVC chairman Tangyin and secretary Yapo Konyak dismissed the chief Angh’s claimed that the Chief Angh of Tangnyu village had allegedly encroached the boundary more than 200 hectares of Longshen EAC HQ. In this regard, TVC has asked the Angh of Sheanghah to produce an official proof and submit it to Tangnyu village council or appear in person for customary ‘Oath Taking’.
With regard to the chief Angh’s claim that infrastructure viz. EAC office, EAC quarter, staff quarters etc. were demolished, TVC has demanded an official report and other relevant documents as proof, failing which Tangnyu village council would be compelled to file FIR for false allegation. Refuting the claim that Tangnyu village council did not allow Survey team sent by state government to proceed, TVC has asked that chief Angh to clarify the date and time of the alleged incident.
TVC stated that GBs, DBs, Anghs, VCCs, Student union representatives, representatives from every village namely: Sheanghah Chingnyu, Tangnyu, Yuching and stakeholders in the presence of verification committee led by the commissioner & secretary of land resources and EAC Longshen on January 20, 2022, had unanimously opposed and objected the proposal for shifting of EAC HQ. Longshen.
The council stated that representatives, who spoke on behalf of Sheanghah Chingnyu, also clarified that there was no question of land encroachment.
TVC said it had also asked the verification committee to verify the boundary if there was any issue on land. However, TVC said the committee also responded that there was no land encroachment issue.
Therefore, TVC has questioned the Chief Angh whether the representatives speaking on that day did not represent Sheanghah Chingnyu village?
TVC said they had gone to Chief Angh’s place twice (August 19, 2021 and November 11, 2021) to discuss the matter, but he was not to be found.
TVC has, therefore, asked the chief Angh to clarify and produce proofs on or before March 31, 2022, failing which the council would to take its own course of action.
