NIPF discusses border issues with CSOs

Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum (NIPF) organised a consultative meeting “for border issue with civil societies” in Dimapur on Friday.
The meeting which was attended by representatives from Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC), Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), Nagaland Zeliang Public Organisation (NZPO) and Nagaland GB Federation, delved into intricate inter-state boundary issues of the North Eastern states, particularly Nagaland and its neighbouring states.
The consultative meeting unanimously resolved and endorsed for creation of a conducive atmosphere among indigenous people of North Eastern states for free and frank discussion on resolving the border issues relating to the concerned people.
Meanwhile, NIPF president, Dr Temsuwati Lkr informed that the North East Indigenous People’s Forum (NEIPF) was organising the 2nd General Conference on April 29 and 30 in Dimapur which would be attended by delegates from all the North Eastern states.
“As a preparation for the conference, the consultative meeting was held with the representatives of the civil organisations of Nagaland to discuss the pressing border issues of the state”, he stated.
Dr. Temsuwati also said the consensus among all the representatives was to establish people to people relationships in order to address any issue in the region.
