OKC launches yearlong silver jubilee celebration

Oriental College Kohima (OCK) launched a yearlong silver jubilee celebration at the college premises, here, on Monday.
Launching the yearlong celebration event, former executive secretary of Angami Christian Revival Church Council (ACRCC), Rev Dr Putsato Naleo said education was the most important aspect of life as power and civilisation came through proper knowledge.
Pointing out that the world was polluted with evil, Naleo said through education, one should be able to differentiate between the right and the wrong.
He encouraged the students to be careful and be committed to attain quality education by keeping God ahead. Naleo also declared the Degree Sports Meet of the college open.
Delivering the welcome address, OCK principal Dr Ketshukietuo Dzüvichü highlighted the history saying that it was started in June 2017 by the Christian Revival Church of Kohima village on a mission mode.
The College has Higher Secondary and Degree courses in Arts and Commerce streams and currently, there are around 500 students.
Meanwhile, jubilee organising committee convenor, Mhalezolie Kire informed about various activities to be taken up during the yearlong celebration with the grand celebration scheduled in November. The programme was chaired by Akhrieno Yhor, prayer was offered by CRC Kohima village pastor Lhouvizhü Sachü while vote of thanks was proposed by OCK vice principal Dr Goapl Basnet.
