Zeliang People’s Organization (ZPO) Nagaland has expressed dismay over the “lackadaisical attitude” of law enforcing agencies in dealing with August 21 incident.
It may be noted that on August 21 night, four unidentified miscreants, reportedly armed, barged into the residence of Kelei Zeliang, secretary to Chief Minister & Rural Development, at Lerie Chazou Colony, Kohima and threatened the members present in the house with dire consequences.
In a release, ZPO (N) secretary Kerang Dumtta and press secretary, Paubingai Renta, has enquired of the district administration and law enforcing agency as to the progress and action taken against those “goons”. ZPO (N) pointed out that it has been almost about a month and “nothing” has been done on this matter and the culprits were roaming in the streets as if nothing had happened.
It stated that the “lackadaisical attitude” on the part of law enforcing agency seemed to be “encouraging those anti-social activists”.  ZPO has therefore urged upon the competent authority to immediately book the culprits involved in the incident and take immediate action. Failing which ZPO (N) said it would be compelled to take law into own hand for which the law enforcing agency shall be solely held responsible for any untoward incident in the future.
