BJP Mokokchung district celebrates advent Christmas

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mokokchung district organised an advent Christmas programme at Ungma on Monday. 

In a press release, media & IT cell BJP Mokokchung district informed that during the programme, BJP in-charge of Mokokchung district, ex-minister Nuklutoshi Longkumer said that the protracted Naga political issue which had been going on for the past many years “has been a stumbling block towards the whole round development of the state”.

He lamented that the political problem despite more than twenty years of peace talks was yet to reach its fruition and therefore asked karyakartas to look at it from a pragmatic point of view. 

He also asked the karyakartas to be prepared for the next election. 

Meanwhile, BJP Mokokchung district president, Imolemba Jamir said that the advent Christmas programme was initially scheduled to be held on December 7. However, the programme had to be postponed in the wake of situation in Mon.

In this regard, Imolemba called for a minute of silence as a tribute to the lives lost.  

While encouraging the youth, he cited the example of Dr. M. Chuba Imsong, who is the BJP national president.

He challenged the youth to emulate the likes of Dr M. Chuba Imsong and added that the young karyakartas of Nagaland would go a long way since the “BJP always recognise those who work for the party”.

The programme saw special presentations by Mokokchung District Disabled Forum (MDDF) while BJP Mokokchung vice president, I. Lanutoshi Longkumer delivered the Christmas message. 

The programme was chaired by BJP Mokokchung Mahila Morcha president, Meyisenla while former president and SEM RN Nungsangsaid the invocation and Kisan Morcha president Tiayanger Jamir exhorted the gathering. 

The programme was attended by karyakartas from all Mandals and Morcha.
