
Minister of Power, C. Kipili Sangtam and minister of Road & Bridges, Y. Vikheho Swu graced the 8th general session of Sumi Aphuyemi Kukami Hoho (SAKH) as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively at Pughoboto Town Hall on May 26.
Addressing the gathering, Kipili called upon the GBs to be an agent of change, saying Naga society needs drastic change of system in terms of leadership and developmental activities.
He reminded that GBs were the judge of the people when it comes to the Naga customary laws and need to be very careful to avoid bigger crimes.
Kipili also cautioned the GBs not to give wrong judgment which, he said, was one of the greatest crimes before the Lord as well as under the law.
He further called upon the GBs to change the system for the future generation, while appealing the 24 villages under Pughoboto sub-division to support and uplift R&B Minister for his leadership qualities and developmental activities in the areas.
Y.Vikheho Swu said he was giving his best efforts to make Pughoboto sub-division one of the best constituencies in the State in terms of cleanliness, greener environment, skill development and entrepreneurship.
He also highlighted the development activities that were being carried out under LADF besides various other schemes.
The minister further dwelled on how the GBs were to exercise their power and function as per the Nagaland GBs Act with special power given to them for maintaining justice in the villages.
Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho president, Inavi Swu, ADC Avelu Ruho also spoke on the occasion.
The programme was chaired by president SAKH Suhoje Kiho, introduction and welcome speech was delivered by advisor SAKH Kughakhu Shagi while the vote of thanks was rendered by secretary Judicial SAKH Kihovi Swu.
