All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (ANHTU) has requested the state government to release the pending salaries, as assured by the chief secretary on March 17 that the pending salaries would be released by April. In a press note, ANHTU general secretary, A.S. Yarthotngam said as per clause (ii) of the assurance, the pending salary was to be paid within April 2017 subjected to funds released by the Ministry of Human Resources Development. ANHTU said as per information made available, Centre had already released the fund and deposited the same to state’s exchequer. In this regard, the union has asked the government to release the funds so that the teachers would be able to repay their loans taken during the non-payment period.
