Economics department of Dimapur Government College (DGC) undertook a one day “educational tour” to Kaziranga, Assam on March 6.
A release by the department stated that the team chose the national park to throw light on the need to preserve animals, birds and forest as part of national resources as they play a very important role in maintaining ecological balance.
It said the main attraction and purpose of the study tour was to enable the team to take care and manage natural resources which were the mainstay for the environment such as climate, rainfall and soil but also determine the potentialities for economic development and recreational purposes of the state. The study team was led by head of the department Kezhaleu Hesso, associate professor Mefutiba, M.L. Ngullie and Akole Vupru and assistant professor Pudezonuo Tase. Altogether 29 economics honors students participated in the programme.
