AET under the Zone-II of Dimapur Police arrested one person on charges of extortion when the latter was found collecting unauthorized taxes in the name of the NSCN (IM) on February 27.
According to ADCP and PRO, in this connection KhakaYepthomi son of late Yehevi Yepthomi of Chishilimi Village, Zunheboto was arrested.
In a similar case on March 3, AET under the Zone-I of Dimapur Police arrested two persons on charges of extortion after the duo were found extorting money from the business establishments in Purana Bazaar area.
The arrested duo were identified as Angukavi Yepthomi son of late Hukavi Yepthomi of Asukhomi village, Zunheboto , reportedly a ‘2nd Lieut’ of the NNC (NA) and Tovika Sema son of Ngukhavi Sema of Yehemi village, Zunheboto.
Incriminating documents in the form of demand slips of the NNC (NA) were seized from their possession and a case is under investigation at the East Police Station.
Further on February 23, Dimapur Police intercepted a vehicle, MN-03-P-1632, from 7th Mile area and recovered approximately 70 Kgs of contraband Ganja.
A. Lohe Chachü son Ashikho of Punanami village, Senapati was arrested in this connection and a case is under investigation at the Diphupar Police Station.
