Acting on a tipoff regarding extortionists demanding money from business establishments in Kohima Town, the Kohima North Police Station and District Anti Extortion Team, led by SDPO (North) Kohima conducted an operation and arrested two persons on November 18.
According to PRO (DEF) Kohima, the persons were identified as S. Timothy Swu (28 yrs), an active member of NPGN/NNC (Non-Accord), and his accomplice Nokget Konyak (25 yrs).
Meanwhile, on November 19, during a routine checking of vehicles, personnel of Khuzama Police inter-state check gate, detected and recovered 50 soap cases of suspected heroin weighing approximately 600 grams, which were concealed in a car (Hyundai i20) coming from the neighbouring state of Manipur. In this connection, a person identified as Md. Wahidur (30 yrs) has been arrested.
