44 Assam Rifles of IGAR (North) celebrated Christmas with the people of Mokokchung through various interactions and events on December 25 and 26. The “friends of the hill people” invited prominent personalities to preside over the church proceedings.
The civil dignitaries and Assam Rifles troops exchanged Christmas wishes, prayed for the well being of all and wished upon a prosperous new year. The celebrations continued through interaction and lunch organised at various places in Mokokchung.
WOKHA: In Wokha, the Wokha Village Council (WVC), 28th Assam Rifle Wokha, Wokha Village Baptist Church (WVBC) officials and Eloe Hoho Wokha Village (EHWV) organised a joint pre-Christmas celebration on December 23 at Wokha village council hall.
At the celebration 28th Assam Rifles distributed Christmas gifts to WVC, WVBC, EHWV and to the eldest man and woman in the village.
Short Christmas greetings were given by, Lt. Col Sashidharan, Major Sunil and WVC chairman. WVBC pastor gave a brief history of Wokha village.
Wokha Village Council had also expressed gratitude to all the ranks and files of 28th Assam Rifles for their good work.
