DIMAPUR: A review meeting of the officers under the Commissionerate of State Taxes and Mobile Squad was held in the office chamber of the Commissioner of State Taxes, Dimapur on March 16. According to DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by, advisor of CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, and attended by commissioner of State Taxes, Sachin Jaiswal and his team of senior officials.
At the meeting, special emphasis on enhancing revenue of the State and compliance by tax payers under the GST regime were discussed.
Khamo in his speech, the department officials to rededicate themselves in their duties, as the department has a vital role in enhancement of the state government revenue.
He appreciated and acknowledged the officials of the department and directed all the officers to remain vigilant in order to safeguard and enhance the revenue of the State government. The officials were directed to be more vigilant and take action against non-compliant persons who were involved in supply of goods and services without proper documents and invoices.
He also dwelled on the importance of training and asked the department to conduct more training and awareness programs across the state for dissemination of knowledge and awareness about GST.
A report on the performance of the department was given by the Commissioner of State Taxes, wherein he mentioned that a compliance survey is underway to bring more eligible persons under the ambit of GST registrations. He therefore urged all the registered Tax payers to pay their taxes correctly and within the stipulated timelines to avoid penalties and departmental action.
