CDPO Dimapur organises ‘cooking competition’

Celebration of ‘Poshan Pakhwada’ at Sematilla Council Hall, Dimapur.

As part of the “Poshan Pakhwada” celebration, Office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Dimapur organised a “local food show and cooking competition” on March 15 at the Sematilla Council Hall, Dimapur.


According to a DIPR report, during the programme, ADPMC, Rural Development- Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (RD-NSRLM), Yimok Phom, deliberated on tribal, traditional, regional and local dietary practices on nutrition and stressed on the need to promote nutrition through the diverse locally available nutritional sources.


Supervisor Kalivi, who chaired the programme, informed that “Poshan Pakhwada” was celebrated in the month of March for 15 days every year, to address the multifaceted challenges related to nutrition and health.


She said “Poshan Pakhwada” aims to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition and promote healthy eating habits.
The cooking competition was won by Lhomithi Anganwadi, while Xuvihe Anganwadi won the second prize. The panel of judges for the cooking competition were ADPMC (RD- NSRLM) Yimok Phom, DPRO, Lolano Patton and area coordinator NSRLM, Medosenu.
