IR ABSI commits suicide in Dimapur

An ABSI of ‘C’ coy 12 NAP (IRB) Alemtiba (49) son of late Imnameren, a resident of Chumukedima, reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself with the service weapon, an AK-47 rifle early morning Thursday inside the Detention Centre, Nagarjan here. Police sources said the deceased, had performed his routine duty till late evening on Wednesday before retiring to the temporary camp at the Detention Centre. On hearing a shot being fired, jawans of the ‘C’company went to investigate and later discovered Alemtiba dead. The deceased apparently shot himself with his service rifle (AK-47), police said, adding one empty case of AK-47 assault rifle was recovered from the spot. A report has been furnished and investigations on, police said.
