NEPED to launch biodiversity campaign

The Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED) which has ushered in a green revolution in the state is all set to launch Bio-diversity conservation awareness campaign in four districts.
Altogether, 30 such workshops are being planned to cover Phek, Mon, Tuensang and Kiphire districts this year, said NEPED team leader Mr.Vengota. The campaign will kick start at Chetheba on January 23 where the first workshop is scheduled to be held.
The awareness campaign will stress on the impact of bio-diversity depletion and the importance of recording on traditional ecological management . Further the campaign will also ascertain the views of the people on what would be the best method of forest management through their experience in the traditional practices, he added.
