Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Dimapur, Friday.
An unidentified cyclist in his late 40 was crushed after an LPG-laden truck (AS 01 J-5451) ran over the victim at around 2.55pm near central junction, 4th mile. While the body was kept in the morgue for identification, the driver of the Kohima-bound truck was arrested and the vehicle seized.
In another accident a pillion rider, Hutozhe Sumi (around 50 years) son of Izhuho Sumi was thrown off the bike (Pulsar, NL 05 E-6864) after it was hit on the side by one NST bus (NL-11-1249). The victim crashed on the road and died on impact. The bike was trying to overtake the bus at the over bridge, Burma Camp when the incident occurred at around 3.55 p.m Friday.
