
Advisor of land Resources, G. Ikuto Zhimomi inaugurated the Nagaland Coffee House at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on November 29.
Ikuto was accompanied by the advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, S. Keoshu Yimchunger, and advisor of Geology & Mining and DUDA, W. Chingang Konyak.
In his inaugural speech, Ikuto highlighted the cultural and historical significance of coffee houses worldwide, and remarked, “Coffee houses have long been hubs of creativity, innovation, and community building; a place where individuals connect, share ideas, and inspire one another. Historically, coffee houses have even played roles in sparking revolutions around the world.”
On behalf of the department, Ikuto expressed gratitude to chief minister, Neiphiu Rio for enabling the relocation of the coffee house to a new, permanent site. He also extended appreciation to the contractor and his team for completing the project within a short span of time.
The event was chaired by Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, who also delivered the welcome address. A brief report on the construction of the Nagaland Coffee House was presented by Director of Land Resources, Albert Ngullie. A dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. Mekhale Yhoshü, senior pastor of Kigwema Baptist Church, and the programme with a vote of thanks by additional Director, N. Hekato.
