Naik A Levi Magh (Retd) of the 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) NAGA has been honored with the Veterans Achiever’s Award by Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, at the Eastern Command, Kolkata.
Magh has dedicated his post-service life to inspiring and preparing youth for the Indian Armed Forces, resulting in many unemployed individuals successfully joining the Indian Army as soldiers. His tireless efforts in spreading awareness and training Ex-Servicemen (ESM) have been instrumental in their resettlement across both government and private sectors.
During his tenure in the Army, Magh was recognized as an asset and role model due to his unwavering devotion to duty, coupled with creativity in every task he performed. Even after retirement, he continues to uplift society, particularly focusing on helping retired personnel who often struggle with resettlement and career direction.
With the introduction of SPARSH in 2021, many Army pensioners faced disruptions due to non-submission of digital life certificates, which resulted in their monthly pensions being stopped.
Magh played a crucial role in assisting these pensioners, traveling to some of the most remote and far-flung areas of the state despite significant challenges and limited resources. His relentless efforts ensured pension continuity for numerous retired personnel.
Beyond administrative support, Magh has actively worked to uplift the underprivileged sections of society, ensuring better financial stability and social standing. His contributions have also strengthened the bond between civilians and the Indian Army, instilling a sense of pride and discipline in his community.
In addition to guiding youth into military careers, Magh has served as a mentor and advocate for veterans’ welfare. His selfless dedication continues to inspire future generations, ensuring that the values of service, sacrifice, and commitment remain a cornerstone for many.
