Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nagaland, Vysan R along with team of officers conducted a State Level meeting with representatives from political parties at Civil Secretariat on March 28.
A press release by CEO’s office informed that Chief Electoral Officer, Vysan R apprised the members that the meeting was the culmination of meetings held at Electoral Registration Officers’ and District Election officers’ level.
He highlighted that the election machinery was primarily for electors and political parties and appealed for active co-operation and participation of political parties. He also appealed the recognized political parties to appoint BLA (Booth Level Agents) at the polling stations.
Meanwhile, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Awa Lorin, informed the representatives that the Election Commission of India was giving importance to political parties as stake holders in the electoral process and explained that there were no pending issues at the ERO and DEO levels in Nagaland.
IT related applications like voters’ service portal, NGRS, Saksham etc were briefed by AEO (MIS), Ketousie-u Khruomo, which were attended by representatives from six political parties.
