Officials from the Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex in Niuland on Friday.
The inspection team, led by Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) Er. Sungtiba Amer, was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, administrative officers, engineers, and the contractor overseeing the project.
During the visit, Er. Amer observed that the progress of construction had been slow, citing site allotment challenges and the relocation of high-tension (HT) power lines as key factors contributing to the delay.
However, he reassured that adequate funding has already been allocated under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. Emphasizing the urgency of the project, he urged the contractor to expedite the construction process without further delays.
In addition to the office complex, the team also inspected the flat-type administrative residential building, which is nearing completion.
The building is designed to accommodate administrative officers stationed in the district. Expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, Er. Amer urged the contractor to ensure its completion within the next three months. The funding for this project has been fully booked under State Earmarked resources.
The projects fall under the General Administration Department’s broader infrastructure development initiative aimed at strengthening district-level governance in Nagaland. CAWD continues its district-wide inspections to maintain transparency, accountability, and the timely execution of public infrastructure projects.
