A Tiranga Yatra Rally was held in Wokha on May 15, beginning from Wokha Town Hall and culminating at Police Point, to condemn terrorism and express unwavering solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces. The rally was organized in the wake of the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.

The rally was led by Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, who also presided over a one-minute silence observed in honour of the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in service to the nation, as well as victims of war and terrorist attacks.

In his address, Deputy CM Patton commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, aimed at neutralizing terror threats. He emphasized that the rally was not conducted under the banner of any political party, but as a citizen-led initiative to show respect and support for the armed forces.

Patton also strongly condemned terrorism, declaring it incompatible with the values of peace, security, and progress. He thanked Prime Minister Modi for his visionary leadership and firm stance against terrorism, calling his actions decisive and necessary for national security.

The rally witnessed participation from members of the Ex-Servicemen Association of Wokha, various political parties, civil society organisations, students from educational institutions across Wokha District, and local citizens. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem and a march towards Police Point.
