After thorough deliberation and discussions, the Tenyimi Central Union (TCU) in its 16th general conference held at Maram Khullen on November 5 unanimously approved that the nomenclature of Tenyimi Central Union (TCU) would be changed to Tenyimi People Organization (TPO) with effect from November 5.
In this regard, the house approved for the necessary amendment of the constitution and empowered the executive council to work out the necessary amendment of the constitution in view of the change of nomenclature.
In the meeting, the house also agreed upon the audit report submitted by the audit Committee, and the recommendation submitted to the house by the Search Committee headed by Convenor Kegwanyi Lorin, President Rengma Hoho, and unanimously selected the following new Office Bearers of the Tenyimi People Organization for the tenure 2008-2013.
The new office bearer’s include, selective posts comprising of Z. M. Sekhose as president, Keku Zeliang as vice president, P.Sani as secretary (administration), Isaha Nandu as secretary (TEDA- Tenyimi Economic Development Agency), Rosiepa Pochury as secretary (sports, culture & literature), Vilahü Puro as treasurer, while the posts of general secretary, finance secretary, secretary information and publicity have been entrusted upon the CPO, APO, and president of the union to fill up the post with candidate of their choice.
Meanwhile, the nominative posts of vice President (Regional) and joint secretaries (regional, each to be attached to the regional Vice president) for Assam, Manipur and Nagaland would be nominated by the respective units of the region/state.
