MBC celebrates golden jubilee

Müleangkiu Baptist Church (MBC) from November 14 to 16 celebrated its golden jubilee under the theme ‘Gods love endures through all generations’ with parliamentary secretary for information and public relations and economics and statistics, R. Tohanba as guest speaker. Phrasing the occasion as historic, Tohanba said “such a celebration makes us dream for the future ahead while also reflecting on the past”
Stressing on the significance of the occasion, parliamentary secretary reminded the gathering that there was “so much” over which one can “rejoice and celebrate together.”
Tohanba also urged the people to strive and attain, not only spiritual growth and fulfill the purpose of God, but also physical development. Further, he called upon the people to celebrate jubilee by forgiving and forgetting past mistakes and share the blessing of God. The parliamentary secretary donated Rs. 20,000 towards the church and Rs.10,000 to village council.
He also had a meeting with village council members where he encouraged them to maintain peace and unity and cooperation with the government for all round development. Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Y.L. Jami and ADC Shamator also delivered short speeches.
Executive Secretary, YBBA Akhang, pastor Mokokchung village Baptist Church, N. Sobu Pongen and director MPM, Dimapur, Yimso were the main speakers of the jubilee. Other highlights of the programme included bible reading, singspiration by Kihoto Theological College Yahkor, award of certificates to pioneers and active workers in the church and release of souvenir.
