The Catholic Church to commemorate silver jubilee of Holy Redeemer Health Centre (HRHC), Chumukedima Saturday organized a “free medical camp” at its premises with Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) chairperson, Neichu-u Kuotsu gracing the camp.
Delivering welcome address Fr. Joe Mariadas chairman, commission for health diocese of Kohima, Nagaland Catholic Church, highlighted historical background of the centre. He said that Catholic Church in Nagaland started Holy Redeemer Health Centre in 1983 with the motto “Commitment to Compassion and care”.
Doctors of various specialties, including EYE, ENT, IDA and team members rendered their free service towards the needy.
Altogether fifteen doctors participated in the medical camp where more than 600 people availed free medical treatment. The doctors included Lt. Col. Dr. Bandopadya (Eye specialist) 3Corps Rangapahar, Dr. Maj. M. Athikho, Dr. Esther L. Imchen, Dr. Mughali V.Achumi, Dr. Y. Renbonthung Murry, Dr. Ashish Kr. Patni, Dr. Jungshi Longkumer, Dr. Alex, Dr. Imna, Dr. S. Temjen, Dr.C. Tetseo, Dr. Along, Dr. Anil Patni, Dr. W. Punsokia, Dr. Sr. Flora.
It may be mentioned that the Centre is managed by the sisters of charity of Northeast province, rendering selfless service for the people of the area.
