DDGBAN demands NGBF gen. secy’s resignation

Dimapur District Gaon Burahs Association of Nagaland (DDGBAN) conducted its emergency meeting of both parent and unit office bearers and executive members on September 13 in its Super Market office Dimapur and discussed on why the bandh called by the Nagaland G.Bs Federation (NGBF), scheduled on September l0 was called off on September 5 by the GB Federation general secretary without consulting the federation executive.
Stating this in a joint release M Y Ngulie, president, DDGBA and Onen Jamir, general secretary DDGBA said the house unanimously decided to take up immediate step against the failure on the part of the federation general secretary Taku Longkumer for calling off the bandh though sufficient time was available for him to discuss with the leaders of DDGBA to call off the same.
Stating that by calling off the bandh, Taku’s ‘dictatorial’ decision has failed to bring any solution or commitment to the GBs from the state government for the two GBs who were recently killed, the association said, he has not only ignored the GB leaders of the district but have also committed a ‘great mistake’ before the whole GBs in Nagaland.
In view of such, the house demanded his resignation from the posts of the general secretary, NGBF and step down without delay as he has ‘no moral right’ to carry out the duty of G.Bs Federation in Nagaland in whatsoever manner, the association said.
