Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has strongly condemned the continues persecution of Christians in Orissa by VHP and Bajrang Dal activists, who are the backbone of the BJP Party in the country.
In a statement issued by Nillo Rengma, vice president NPCC stated that the BJP party is surviving because of the VHP, Bajrang Dal and the RSS, who are political wings of the BJP party. He added that wherever BJP party or its coalition government comes into power its soldiers like VHP, Bajrang Dal and the RSS are given free hand to go for persecution of minority especially the Christians on the pretext of forced conversion. The statement also further insists that even after police have proof that the Hindu leader was killed by the Maoist, the fanatics continue their violence against the Christians and continued to violate the freedom of religion and human rights. They indulged in violent activities like burning churches, killing Christians, destroying the houses of Christians, raping nuns, parading pastors naked in the streets for none of their faults but because they are Christians. The NPCC has urged DAN Government to take up the matter with the government of Orissa to stop the persecution for Christians in Orissa, since DAN Government is also a partner of NDA.
The NPPC has questioned the DAN government’s silence and has asked them to raise their voices and save the Christians who are tortured in Orissa and Karnataka where BJP party are ruling. NPPC has argued that the DAN Government will be part of the persecution process if they fail to advice the NDA leadership to stop further persecution of Christian in the country.
