Music Safari rocks Tuensang

Thousands of music lovers thronged the venue on Friday night to witness the first ever ‘Nagaland Music Safari’ by various bands from different walks of life at Town Hall Tuensang, organized by the Music Task Force, Govt of Nagaland under the aegis of Nagaland state Aids control society.
The contingent of musicians, technicians, support crew and MTF officials drove in to Tuensang for the third stopover, in the quest to conduct competitions in all the districts. With the event managed by the Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU), the contestants (6 soloists and 4 bands) revealed their latent musical talents and enthralled the audience during the two hour function on September 16 in the town hall.
The audience, that mostly comprised of new age generations and all those young at heart jammed along with the performances presented by the four bands from Tuensang, which included Mylonite band, Psychonic band, East Ranger and Myriad band.
The programme was organized with an aim to promote music lovers in the state and also to provide them a platform wherein they can practice and put extra effort so as to equip them compete in the National and International level.
After performing electrifying numbers, Mylonite band, much to the desire of the turbocharged audience won the first prize while Sychonic and Marian band bagged the second and third position.
Solo competitions were also held where Mr. Aroba bagged the first position while, Zevert Ben and Khumrila Yim won the second and third position. Individual prizes were also awarded where the lead and Bass guitarist were awarded to Sychonic band and the best drummer and vocalist awarded to Mylonite band. Meanwhile Devine Connection Band who also judged the programme, enchanted the audience by performing contemporary gospel rock numbers.
Besides, music lovers of Tuensang and officials from the other districts, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang Y.L. Jami, SDO Civil, Asst Development Commissioner and other government officials also witnessed the event.
Y. L. Jami, also exhorted the participants and music lovers to uphold the profession of music in future, which is a universal language and would ‘enchant the people’ anywhere in the world. He also lauded the organizers for uplifting the younger generation and by presenting such platform for them to bring out their inner talents at its most.
It may be mentioned that, Nagaland Music Safari started from September 9 and would continue till October 14 and the safari would cover 11 districts in the state which will culminate on October 30.
