State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio said that the state government was concerned about the functioning and happening in the Nagaland University. He said though the state government was out of preview and no power under the UGC norms, yet it could negotiate from outside to settle the matter arising in the University. Earlier, Congress MLA I. Imkong said that Nagaland University has been facing problems since the beginning and that there might have been something wrong in the NU. He expressed happiness over the appointment of a cabinet sub committee to look into matters of the Nagaland University. He necessary serious steps should be taken to set things right and added that the careers of the students should not be hampered.
