Seyochung Area Students’ Union (SASU) has expressed gratitude to the DAN government under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, chief minister, C. Kipili Sangtam, MLA and chairman NSMDC and all administrative officials and department of electrical for restoring electricity in the entire area which are in the process.
A joint release issued by Lichumse Sangtam president and Kyupise Anar general secretary SASU said the whole area reeled under darkness for almost 10 years but now the area people are ‘expecting’ to access electricity service shortly.
Penning down its plight the union said the entire area lacks basic amenities like water supply, electricity, transportation and medical facilities which have led the area people face untold hardships throughout the monsoon due to non availability of modern road linkages and approach roads.
Though the availability record of the initiative taken by the power department for electrification on this affected area dates back to 1998; the union said ‘amazingly’ the entire people in this area have ‘never’ seen electricity in their life since the ten years.
However the union said with the initiative of the government department and the concern sitting MLA of the constituency, things are ‘steadily improving’ and expressed appreciation to Kipili Sangtam, MLA for his assurance in restoring electricity, EE Power, Kiphire, SDO (P) Kiphire, SDO (C), Seyochung Town, and USSC, Asang SDO, (Power) Dimapur and Susil, contractor for tirelessly working for the area in particular and the public in general.
In this regard the union also urged the general public and all sections of societies to cooperate with the departmental staffs and officials and further cautioned any unwanted elements disturbing the work in process would be seriously dealt with, and he/she will be held responsible for the incomplete works.
