NSCN (I-M) Zeliangrong region has notified that contract works or any other works within Zeliangrong region should be implemented through the acknowledgment of the “concern area” of the region.
Informing this in a press release, region CAO, Longchaibi Golmei further stated that “as per the directive of the GPRN” only the Naga contractor was permitted to involve in any contract works within its jurisdiction.
It also cautioned that “if any contactor or agency of Naga/ non-Naga exercise the work beyond the directive/knowledge of the said region” the whole responsibilities would be borne by that responsible person.
Meanwhile, the region has “strongly” condemned the killing of one G. Robert of Shangrungpang village, an Indian army posted at Silliguri and one Ginthanliu Ganmei of Charungkhou village. The release said the two deceased of Zeliangrong community were coming from Imphal in a bus on the ill-fated night of October 23.
Further condemning “such type of inhuman act and harassment/torture upon the innocent public by one underground group” the region has warned ‘not to repeat’ in the future.
It has also appealed various social organisations of respective areas to look after such activities and take necessary action.
