Having failed to get any positive response from the state government almost one month after ultimatum was served on October 29 which is set to expire on November 29, to address its “genuine grievances”, the All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA) has decided to launch a step-wise agitation anytime after November 29 till its “lawful demands are desirably fulfilled by the government”. ANEFWA’s charter of demands included filling up all unified vacancies in different category of technical posts by deserving senior most technical staff; 80 % regularization of work charged technical employees of power department as assured by the government during the year 2000 or conversion to Operation Maintenance Staff; framing of technical service rule of power department, and allowances according to those other essential departments and allowances for tool kit bag and rain coats. ANEFWA in a joint press release issued by its president, Rendimeren and general secretary, Z. Hetoi Assumi solicited the support of the public and requested them to bear with any inconveniences which the agitation may cause.
