Few selected craft entrepreneurs of the State participated in the fair-cum-workshop at Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi through North Eastern craft consultant and NEZCC on the theme ‘Ode to Earth’ from November 11to 13.
During the 3-day programme, seminar on the theme ‘The Poor First’ was conducted attended by about 3000 delegates from India and many other countries under the banner of ‘Women on Wings’, a leading international NGO working for women of developing countries focusing mainly in the areas of management, marketing and communication for women to promote skills from perspective of western business models to local and regional working methods, to safeguard the transfer of knowledge and to make women economically independent.
According to Naga craft entrepreneurs, participants from Nagaland had the opportunity to interact directly with the Resource persons (Donors) from different countries and craft designers. An invitation has also been extended to Women on Wings to visit the State and conduct seminar on above areas that would benefit womenfolk of the State by the skills and expertise of resource persons from Women on Wings group.
The Craft entrepreneurs has appealed the state government for sponsorship to pass on the concept used by ‘Women on Wings’ to standardize women craft groups registered under Society Act 1860 residing within Nagaland and also support them to bring “Women on Wings” to Nagaland by next year.
