A house with seven rooms belonging to one Masoyo Vaca of Shiroy village, 11 kms away from Ukhrul was completely razed to ashes Thursday at around 1:50 pm. However, there was no casualties due to timely intervention of the villagers.
According to family sources, properties worth 7 to 8 lakhs were destroyed in the fire incident. The Ukhrul fire team could not reach on time and it was reported that Ukhrul district police personnel led by SDPO rushed to the spot and took necessary reports of the incident.
