State governor Nikhil Kumar attended the 43rd conference of governors held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi on October 29 and 30. President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil opened the 43rd conference of governors at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
In her opening address at the conference, the president spoke about global recognition of India’s economic and technological power, multiple challenges of terrorism, left wing extremism and insurgency, the need for evolving a viable strategy for increasing production, productivity and profitability in rain fed areas, role of governors in the context of 6th Schedule of the Constitution of India and the need for a multi-pronged strategy to combat and prevent corruption.
