The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) under District Mission Authority Mokokchung organized an orientation training program for parents and tutors of home based education at EBRC Mokokchung village on November 23.
The program was initiated to capacitate and enable effective care and education by the parents and tutors of the differently-abled children in the district who are unable to access formal education at the schools. Parents and tutors from six EBRC attended the program.
District education officer, Tekamayang on his speech called upon those who were actively involved in imparting education and life skills to the differently-abled children at home to continue to strife hard and work diligently so as to bring quality education for those differently-abled children. “A positive relationship and coordination between tutors and parents would indeed go a long way in imparting whole round education and productive life skills to the differently abled children”, he added.
Other highlights of the program were presentation on “I know I can” by Chubainla, IED Co-ordinator DMA Mokokchung; “Special Education on BHE Children” by Wapang Walling, assistant coordinator, DMA Mokokchung which was followed by discussion.
Chubalepden, ToT IED, in charge EBRC Mokokchung village gave the vote of thanks and the program was chaired by Yarang ToT IED in charge EBRC, kubolong.
