DIMAPUR: Toshipokba filed his nomination papers as NPF candidate for the forthcoming by-election to 26-Aonglenden Assembly Constituency, as filing of nomination papers for the by-election ended April 18. He filed his nomination papers before the returning officer, Lithrongla G. Chishi at DC’s conference Hall. Alempokba also filed his nomination papers as substitute candidate for the NPF. After filing their nomination papers, both the candidates took oath before the returning officer.
Nomination papers would be taken up for scrutiny at deputy commissioner’s conference hall on April 19. Electoral battle for the prestigious Assembly Constituency in Nagaland state would witness straight contest between Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Dr. S.C Jamir and the ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate Toshipokba.
