CAN Youth orgsanises GBV campaign

CAN Youth a Dimapur based NGO supported by Mittika, Delhi DOR (Dialogue, Organize, Reclaim) organized a GBV (Gender Based Violence) campaign at Eastern Christian College Dimapur on November 25.
GBV is a nationwide campaign with a dream to live in a gender just society, as people are currently reluctant to talk, think, challenge issues of gender violence at this present juncture. 
CAN core team member and campaign co-ordinator Sedelo T. Vadeo delivered the welcome address, introductory session and interaction. 
CAN Youth GBV campaign team Ruokuobeituo  Kire, Hukatoli, Katini, Japhet Chawang and Rachel Cukhamu presented a short theatre on GBV which reflects the rigid patriarchal convention and inequality between men and women.
Stereotype breaking activities were also conducted with the students and teachers. Many students came out with issues related to their personal experience for discussions relating to harassment, eve teasing, judgement, stereotype of society towards the dress code.
Md. Zubair from Mittika Delhi DOR also encouraged the student community to work towards gender just society as a whole rather than individually. The event concluded with chain of change activity and signature campaign by the students.
Meanwhile, CAN Youth has expressed gratitude to Eastern Christian College for their Concern towards the issue and for their active participation.
