First inter-school debate on the topic “are we using social networking sites effectively?” was organized at Hollotoli School Dimapur with chief signal officer, Brigadier K.G.A Kamal Dev as chief guest.
G.Rio School Kohima, Delhi Public School Dimapur, Holycross School Dimapur, Maple tree School Dimapur, Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School Dimapur, Little Star Higher Secondary School Dimapur, Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur, Sainik School Punglwa, and Hollotoli School Dimapur took part in the debate.
The winners of the debate were Vinivi Wotsa and Yansaromo J Patton of Delhi Public School Dimapur.
Gilgal Ikror Horam and Atolimi S. Sumi of Hollotoli School Dimapur emerged1st runner-up and Erenbeni Humtsoe and Sunjemyanger Imchen from Holy Cross School Dimapur secured 2nd runner-up. Erenbeni Humtsoe of Holy Cross School Dimapur was adjudged the best interceptor.
Judges of the debate were assistant professor, Wapangla Imchen, assistant professor, Anjan Behera and assistant professor, Mhonthung Lotha.
The debate was organised with the aim to promote debating skills amongst the youth and provide them a forum to express their opinion on current issues.
