To meet with the demands of the people, 2000 chicken were sold at the poultry farm Mokokchung on May 15. According to an official bulletin, farm officials said with more customers in and around the district, 2000 chickens twice in a month were being sold all year round.
The day old chicks were procured from Poly Chicks Khetri, Guwahati and Kegg Farm, Kolkata and within seven days after the arrival the chicks, they were vaccinated and fed in the Farm for 30 days after which it was sold off.
It is learnt that chickens at poultry farm, Mokokchung are in high demand from districts like Zunheboto, Longleng and Longkhim town besides other villages and towns in Mokokchung district.
