Peace Channel institute of music, art & culture inaugurated

Peace Channel Institute of Music, Art & Culture located at circular road, opposite to Bishop House was inaugurated on May 17 with Louis Humtsoe, vice- principal, government college, Dimapur, as the chief guest.

The chief guest expressed his gratitude to Peace Channel for extending their services to equip, empower and develop the skills of the youth especially the drop outs and marginalized of our society. 

He said music penetrates all lives and quoted, “If music is the fruit of love, play on”.
He also gave the examples of great musicians, including Beethoven and the Beatles that had touched his life.
Further, he advised the students to make full use of the opportunity and bring positive changes in their lives.

Dr. Albert Joseph, executive director, FVTRS, who was guest of honour, in his message exhorted the youth to change their attitude and to take up any job that brings dignity and that fetches income.

He stated most problems faced were due to the wrong attitude and of indiscipline.
Dr. Albert later encouraged the present batch by asking them to set a trend for the future batch to enhance a good future further looked forward to a good partnership with Peace Channel.

Rev. Fr. C. P. Anto, Director, Peace Channel, gave the keynote address where he highlighted the audience about the ratio of school dropouts, literate and ill-literate in the state and of the country as a whole.

Earlier, Arnold, coordinator, welcomed the gathering, Rev. Fr. Thomas John blessed the institute, and the youth performed cultural dances and special numbers.

Rev. Fr. Jaison did the benediction and concluding prayer. 
The institution would offer courses in guitar, keyboard, choreography, drum and violin.

It may be mentioned that the main purpose of the institute is to cater to the needs of the poor and less privileged sections of the society and who are deprived of such opportunity to learn music. It also aimed at protecting and preserving the culture of the people.
